A New Chapter in Residential Community Development

We’re excited to share that Lamont Land, a name you know and trust in Canadian land development, is stepping into a new chapter with a new management team. For over 30 years, we’ve built a legacy founded on integrity, innovation, and a strong sense of community, allowing us to create, design and bring award-winning residential neighbourhoods to life.

Today we welcome a new generation of leadership, committed to building on that legacy and honouring our core values while bringing in fresh ideas and perspectives.

We’d love for you to join us on this journey. To reflect on our history, share how our new management will shape our future, and explore what’s ahead for Lamont Land.

Deep Roots: Then and Now

Founded by Roy Moore (formerly from Qualico Developments) and Gerry Lamont (formerly from Cardel Homes), with the help of Maurice Chornoboy (also formerly of Qualico), Lamont Land has been building a solid reputation for responsible land development and creating great places to call home since 1991.

And our reputation is well-earned; we do things differently.

What sets us apart? Our guiding principle has been unwavering – we respect the land and people. We are stewards of the land, responsible to transform raw land into communities where people build their homes, families and community.

Whether it’s creating a neighbourhood around a natural wetland habitat or preserving green space for residents to enjoy, we are committed to responsible land development and the thoughtful creation of communities that enrich the well being of residents. We’ve also worked hard to establish relationships over the years with other home builders, contractors and industry trade partners. We do whatever we can to support the local community we’re working with – our relationships matter.

Over the years, we’ve developed many communities in both Alberta and British Columbia, giving homebuyers a variety of choices and exceptional amenities to enjoy. Our communities have provided residents with value, comfort, and exceptional lifestyle amenities, now and for generations to come.

The question we ask aren’t about how to get more lots on the land. We look at how we can help residents get the most out of their lot AND their neighbourhood – things like the orientation for a spectacular view or backing onto the pond. We also ask ourselves other questions like:

  • How do we make this playground work for kids of all ages?
  • Would this be a good place for a neighbourhood park?
  • How can we make this community more affordable?
  • And more…

Our core values guide every decision we make. We embrace sustainable and innovative planning solutions to make a positive impact on the environment. We’re committed to offering all sorts of new home options for varying lifestyles and budgets from single-family to multi-family, to recreational cottage communities – every Lamont community is envisioned and established with integrity and purpose.

A New Generation Takes the Helm

At the beginning of 2023, the transition to a new senior management committee began at Lamont. And while the founders Roy Moore and Gerry Lamont remain on that committee, they have stepped back to let their sons Phil Moore and Scott Lamont take the reins in senior leadership roles, and we couldn’t be more thrilled!

Both Phil and Scott are seasoned civil engineers who understand the industry and share our company values. Phil joined us in 2010, and Scott followed in 2013. Both have extensive senior development manager experience; Phil Moore worked for Urban Systems as a community consultant. Scott Lamont left BSEI to join the Lamont Land team.

With their unique skills and passion, Phil and Scott will guide Lamont Land into an exciting new chapter of growth and success and build on the Lamont’s shard values – dedication, passion, respect, innovation, accountability, and teamwork.

As operations continue to grow throughout Canada, what remains unchanged is a deep commitment to creating the best communities for families to call home… today, tomorrow, and in the future.

Upcoming Projects on the Horizon
